If you haven't been hiding under a rock, you probably know about the coronavirus pandemic and the terrible harm it has caused humanity. The majority of the world's population is confined, but the social distancing will disappear at some point and we will all continue to live normally. This seems to be a logical sequence of events. Doesn't it? Well, there are a few things that the media is not focusing on right now. Below are three terrifying events that will likely occur in most parts of the world once the peak of the pandemic passes.
3 terrifying events that no one expects after the coronavirus pandemic ends
Scary Event #1: Crime rates will rise dramatically
The global recession is accompanied by widespread poverty, which will likely lead to a dramatic increase in crime rates in different parts of the world. In the U.S., the coming recession is expected to push the unemployment rate up to 15%. If we look at history, during the Great Depression, due to the lack of legitimate work, illegal activities prevailed in the United States. The same thing happened during the dotcom crisis.
Scary Event 2: Pandemics will become a new normal
With the rising death toll in America, Europe and Asia, the current coronavirus pandemic highlights the vulnerability of human systems. The death toll could plant a seed in the minds of malicious actors by highlighting an effective way to eliminate humans on a global scale. For example, why would terrorists think of preparing a bomb that can kill thousands of people, if they can destroy hundreds of thousands of human lives with a "silent killer"? The current pandemic is just the tip of an iceberg lurking beneath calm waters.
Scary Event 3: Mental instability will be on the rise
Even before the current pandemic, electronic devices have brought a lot of "social distancing" into people's lives. The increase in social media use could cause an increase in suicides. Increased isolation will likely lead to a host of new problems. Mentally vulnerable people will be hit hard. Unfortunately, social isolation, which leads to feelings of loneliness and fear, will increase the death rate worldwide. These deaths will likely take the form of suicides and shootings.
